The shredder does not feed paper but makes noises. The main reason is that the motor runs idle due to overload protection, paper jam, sensor head failure or paper feed wheel damage. You can check and solve the problem by following the steps below:
I. Common causes and countermeasures
1. Overload or paper jam
Putting too much paper at one time will cause the motor to overload, triggering the protection mechanism to stop feeding paper;
Long-term failure to clean up paper scraps will cause the paper feed to be blocked;
Solution: Turn off the power immediately and manually clean up the paper jam or paper scraps. It is recommended to use a slender tool (such as a screwdriver) to remove the residue from the paper feed, and be careful to avoid scratching the blade.
2. Overheat protection is activated
Continuous operation for too long will cause the motor to overheat and trigger automatic shutdown protection;
Solution: Turn off the power and let the machine cool down for at least 30 minutes before restarting.
3. Failure of paper feed components
Worn paper feed wheel or loose belt will cause failure to grab paper;
Failure of the sensor head will make the machine unable to recognize paper (the motor is running but there is no paper feeding action);
Solution: Try to switch to manual mode to push the paper. If it does not work, contact the manufacturer to replace the paper feed wheel or repair the sensor head.
II. Preventive maintenance suggestions
Control the amount of paper shredding per time: Operate according to the maximum capacity marked in the manual (usually 2-4 sheets/time) to avoid overload;
Clean up debris regularly: Empty the paper collection box after each use, and clean the blade gap with a soft brush every month; Environmental adaptability: Avoid continuous operation for more than 30 minutes in an environment below 5℃, and shorten the single use time in high temperature seasons.
Note: There are safety risks in operations involving the removal of knives or circuit boards. Non-professionals are advised to seek Deli after-sales or shredder repair services through official channels
